Enter the total pensionable earnings received during each period. The planner allocates that total across the period’s months, checks every rolling 36-month window, and applies the Tier 4 10% annual limit when 24 earlier months are available.
Include eligible overtime, differential, location pay, longevity, holiday pay, and retroactive pay earned in the period. Use shorter periods when earnings vary materially. Do not include leave cash-outs or termination pay.Account for accruals

Know the boundaries
Service is estimated from the start and end dates plus your adjustment. NYSLRS service credit may differ because payroll status, part-time service, prior service, and leaves matter.
The builder looks for the highest rolling 36-month period and applies the 10% limitation when at least 24 earlier months are entered.
Up to 1,400 hours equals 200 seven-hour days. It may add pension service and support retiree health credit, but cannot qualify you for a better formula.
Overtime/comp and annual/vacation estimates are kept outside pensionable earnings. Caps and payout rules can vary by bargaining unit or title.
